A self-initiated concept that reimagines the worm compost bin for compact urban homes, based on my own experience with indoor composting. The design turns vegetable biowaste into soil for houseplants, while smart features support everyday use: airflow controls odour, sensors track moisture and show when the compost is ready.
Workflow: sketch, Rhino, AI
The form and key details start as hand sketches, which I then build as a 3D model in Rhino. The Rhino model works as structural input for generative AI, keeping form and proportions under my control. AI is used only for visualisation, while the design decisions remain in the sketch and the model. The result is consistent, realistic visualisations of materials, colours and use contexts, produced in hours instead of the days traditional rendering would take.
