Lume -award-winning eyewear design
Lume eyewear received first prize in the 2007 Eyewear Design Competition organized by Keops and the Design Museum Finland. The concept was developed for users seeking greater freedom to modify and personalize their glasses. The frame featured interchangeable colorful nose pads and interchangeable side panels, both designed as customizable elements that allowed users to shape the visual character of the eyewear to their own style, reflecting the strong DIY spirit of that time. The design was produced by EGO Optiska.

Fun fact: When this project was completed, I didn’t have access to a digital camera, and phone cameras weren’t capable of producing usable images. As a result, no photographs of the final manufactured frame exist. The images shown here are AI-generated reinterpretations based on the original 3D render, illustrating how the eyewear design would appear on a person.
